Chairman's Message
The development of a deep-water port and
associated rail infrastructure in Western Australia's iron-ore rich
Mid West region has been a vision for some 30 years.
The aim of this infrastructure has always been to ensure the
region's mineral resources can be accessed and exported for the
benefit of local mines, associated industries, the Mid West
communities and, of course, the State as a whole.
The development of the Mid West rail network and
Oakajee Port is Yilgarn Infrastructure's current priority
project.
Oakajee, about 25km north of Geraldton, is the State Government's
preferred site for the port, which will be supported by a regional
railway network designed to service all the Mid West
mines.
Yilgarn is an independent Australian company and we have designed
our port and rail project to operate on an open-access,
genuinely multi-user basis to avoid the infrastructure access
problems being experienced in the Pilbara.
Yilgarn is focused on delivering community benefit and regional
growth from the development of the port and rail infrastructure. We
are committed to the creation of local jobs, supporting local
industry and aiding local communities.
Yilgarn has strong financial and technical backing, combining
Western Australian engineering expertise and Australian equity
financing with China's best infrastructure providers and funding
support.
Yilgarn plans to list on the Australian Stock
Exchange in the near future and will remain Australian-based
and controlled.

Work on the port and northern and southern rail
corridors is advanced with all the necessary engineering and
financial pre-feasibility studies substantially completed, flora
and fauna studies on both rail corridors finished and work underway
on the Definitive Feasibility Study.
On May 9, Yilgarn was one of two proponents to
submit a tender to the Western Australian Government for the
construction of the Oakajee Port.
Yilgarn's Mid West Rail and Oakajee Port Project is more than an
infrastructure development. It is designed to be a framework for
regional growth for the Mid West that will deliver benefits to
local communities for decades to come.
