Council of the Macquarie University, Dr Saunders has wide
experience in the private and public sectors, covering high-level
investment advice, business development and project structuring
through to financial close in Australia, Europe and Asia.
Previous roles have included: structuring a consortium of three Australian and three Chinese companies which designed and constructed the Hanoi National Stadium; leading the development of a major hot plate rolling mill in Vietnam designed by the German engineering group Ferrostaal, with equipment supplied by a Chinese consortium of CMEC, MECC and Shougang, and negotiating the engineering, procurement and construction contract by a Chinese consortium for a 750 MW hydro project in Nepal for a major Australian hydro developer

Bone
Derek Bone has wide experience as a professional
consultant and project director with more than 25 years of
experience across a diverse range of industries. These industries
include banking and finance, insurance, energy, resources,
telecommunications, distribution (logistics), and media.
Disciplines deployed include project management, business
development, risk management and Information Technology.
Mr Bone has enjoyed significant success with businesses undergoing major changes due to restructuring, mergers and acquisitions. Previous riles have included: responsibility for vendor management for the successful deregulation of the gas industry in Western Australia and South Australia and for resource procurement negotiations for a Chinese steel mill.
Project Director Mal
Thornton
Mr Thornton is a highly experienced project director
who has been appointed to steer the development of Yilgarn's
Mid West rail network to service the planned Oakajee Port. Mal
Thornton has more than 30 years experience in the mining, oil and
gas and processing/chemical industries, working on major resource
and infrastructure projects in Australia, the USA, Madagascar,
Nigeria, Europe, Greenland and the Middle East.
He brings to Yilgarn leadership experience in project management and business development that enables him to coordinate and drive a team to achieve an optimum result.
His roles have included project management of the CSBP AN Expansion Project in Kwinana and overseeing national and international business development activities for specific infrastructure and projects including the Greenland Niobium Tantalum REE Project, Australian Marine Complex Common User Facility, Kingstream Steel and iron Ore Mine Project, oil and gas projects in Pakistan, and gold and gemstone projects in Madagascar.
